Celebrating

 Senior Presentation 2019

Oh what a night!

Altona City Soccer Club’s 2019 Senior Presentation, held on Saturday 14 September at WestWaters Hotel, was a wonderful night out for 118 of our senior players, coaches and committee members. Vice President Frank Armeri was emcee and all enjoyed great food, drinks, and dance floor moves.

There were awards and speeches with a special plaque of service presented to departing coaches Andy O’Dell and Sam Borg. The raffle was fun with the following winners: Roger Borg – Melbourne Victory framed picture, Sam Borg – King Kong Movie Pack, Ruth Seevanthan – Senior Men’s Team Manager Signed Perth Glory Shirt (delighted as girlfriend is from Perth and is a huge fan), and Candice Sallama – Senior Women’s Team Sunset Cruise.

Senior Women’s Team player Jaime Penna made a moving speech thanking the club for its support of her family and honouring her late father Theo with raising funds for Cure Brain Cancer Foundation.

Match Report

Darron Cox U18s Coach

Firstly, I would like to thank everyone for coming out to support the U18s team in their State Final yesterday – it was absolutely brilliant!

I would also like to thank the U18s team for continuing to play football in the face of constant intimidation. It’s a real credit to them and the club.

Unfortunately, we fell short this time. However, this group of players will learn from this experience and be better players in the future.

Full Time: 3-1 to Mornington SC.

Once again thanks one and all.

Mini Roos Presentation & U9 Joeys Final Match

Great Day For

 New&Mini Roos Presentation

The Mini Roos had their presentation day on Saturday 7 September at Kim Reserve.

It was a great day to enjoy a sausage sizzle, morning tea and jam donuts along with some fun soccer games between parents and coaches. We also had a visit from recently appointed 2020 Senior Men’s Coach Matt Gray and senior men’s Goalkeeper #61 Stefan Sardelic who also played as a junior at Altona City Soccer Club.

Our Club’s Vice President Frank Armeri presented the trophies to all the New Roos (5-7 years) and Mini Roos (8-11 years) players.

The New and Mini Roos could not happen without the commitment and dedication of our Coordinators. Big shout out and thank you to both Katherine Bradford and Chris Caruana.

U9 JOEYS FINAL MATCH VIDEO

Here’s a special video of the U9 Joeys North West final game on 1 September against Kensington Junior SC. It’s all about goals, oranges, great coaching, cheering, teamwork, encouragement and a team huddle. Amazing work Chris Caruana.

Altona City is the best!
