Get the most out of our players?

It’s a great question, and one that many coaches and club leaders discuss at length -how do we get the best from our players?

Altona City Soccer Club coaches, President Charlie Gerada, Facilities Jason Price, and Vice President Frank Armeri get an opportunity to listen to one of the best on the subject ACSC Coaching Director Alan Davidson, who is part of our club’s Executive Committee, and his son Jason Davidson, current Perth Glory player.

The informal session focussed on how coaches could get the best from their players via an informal Q&A session with the discussion surrounding principles of player progression including the impact on players family members when players are coached and motivated by a parent.  It was lovely to welcome Jason Davidson back to the Altona City Soccer Club where his soccer career began.

We thank both Alan and David for sharing their knowledge.  It was a valuable session and thoroughly enjoyed by all those who attended.  Alan Davidson was arguably Australia’s finest ever fullback who played 79 times for the Socceroos.  Alan’s son Jason has following in his father’s boots and is an Australian international association football player who currently plays as a defender for Perth Glory sharing with the coaches.
