We love seeing our players’ soccer dreams come true!

18 July 2021

Altona City Soccer Club is proud to announce that Cassia (ACSC U16/17 Girls) has been selected in the Melbourne Victory Elite Girls program.
Victory’s Elite Girls Program is for talented players from Under-15 through to Under-19. The program is training only and is designed to complement players who are already training and playing in competitive matches with their clubs. Well done to Cassia on her selection.
Congratulations to Ayah (ACSC U14 & U16/17 Girls – yes both!) and Claudia (ACSC U16/17 Girls) for their selection in Melbourne Victory’s Pre-Academy.
The Pre-Academy provides players (girls U9 – U14 & boys U9-U12) a platform to enhance their skills alongside Victory’s technical coaches in a weekly training environment at one of five venues across metropolitan Melbourne. The curriculum focuses on ball mastery and key technical components and is the pathway into the youngest Academy team at the Under-13 level.
Our ACSC community is so proud of these girls and wishes Cassia, Ayah and Claudia every success in their soccer journey. 🙌

ACSC – Return to Play Guidelines

As of 18 June 2021

We’re back!
Well, sort of.
Whilst it is great to have the players, their coaches, team managers, and one parent/carer per child back to the pitch we want to be able to welcome our whole community back.
How do we achieve this? We respect and abide by the guidelines stipulated by Football Victoria, the State Government and Hobsons Bay City Council.
Current important guidelines –
  • Do not attend if feeling unwell
  • Sign in using the QR code provided
  • No general spectators allowed
  • Only one parent /carer per child and support people for players with additional needs.
  • Residents of Greater Melbourne are not permitted to travel to Regional Victoria as spectators, other than for parental supervision.
  • Socially distancing must be adhered to, if you cannot socially distance wear a mask
Please read all the documents below before you attend training or a match.  We envisage that coaches may face difficulties ensuring young players understand and adhere to the requirements and guidelines outlined. We ask that parents and carers discuss the requirements prior to returning to the pitch to assist the coaching team.

Volunteers are required as COVID SAFE Officers and CLEANERS for light cleaning to ensure we are compliant with the COVID cleaning requirements.

To volunteer, please email – clubmanager@altonacitysc.com

This is our new normal and it will ensure that we stay safe and on the pitch. Please assist us in this by putting your hand up to volunteer.

Meet Dave – ACSC’s biggest fan from 12,000 miles away!

Meet Dave – ACSC’s biggest fan from 12,000 miles away!

We are the people.

Meet Dave – ACSC’s biggest fan even though he is 12,000 miles away!

Dave lives in Bradford, West Yorkshire in the UK and even though he is 12,000 miles away he is still very much an active part of our Altona City Soccer Club Community.

You will often find Dave commenting on our socials and sharing images on his socials attending his much loved Bradford City FC matches decked out in an ACSC kit.  Dave has even been captured in his ACSC kit at the Bradford games by local media. Thank you Dave for taking ACSC global!

Dave came over to Australia on a one-year visa in 1990 and stayed with family in Newport. On a night exploring the surrounding suburbs, Dave discovered the lights on at HC Kim Reserve and saw the boys training.  “I stopped in and asked if I could join the lads for a knockabout.”  Dave went on to play in our Reserves team in 1990/1991 as a Midfield Attacker.  Thirty years later Dave’s family ties with ACSC are still in place with our Senior Women’s player Rebecca Kovacs being the daughter of Daves’s cousin.

Of course, the person that Dave spoke to that first night was our much loved and missed Tony Cassar.  “After speaking to Tony I decided this could be a good club and it turned out to be a great club. Everyone at Altona City Soccer Club made me feel so welcome.  I was coming out of a bad time with the passing of my father and associating with the wrong crowd in England. The break came at the perfect time for me and I owe ACSC and Tony Cassar so much thanks for helping me through.”

“I visited a few years ago and watched a pre-season game and caught up with Tony and a few of the players which brought back great memories. I’m proud to have been part of the ACSC family and will continue to wear the colours with pride at games here in Bradford when COVID restrictions are lifted.”

Thank you for being part of our community Dave, it is a privilege to have you.
