Altona City Soccer CLub
WE ARE THE PEOPLE
Our 2022 Senior Men are competing in the North West Victoria State 1st Division. The team is made up of not only the very best players, but those who work extremely hard to reach the goals they’ve set for themselves as individuals and as a group this year.
Centre Back & Captain
The highlight of Ross’s playing career was playing in the 2018 Scottish Junior Cup Final with Auchinleck Talbot FC.
Ross is a proven no-nonsense hard-tackling defender who has displayed admirable leadership qualities on and off the park. During his time at ACSC Ross has become a fan favourite, especially with our Newroos.
“I can’t wait to hit the pitch with this great group of lads under coach Michael Calandrella – promotion here we come!”
Vice Captain & Right back
Jamie is looking forward to being back at HC Kim Reserve and is excited about the 2022 season. He is inspired by the good culture, great teammates, and positive winning attitude at ACSC.
His message to the ACSC community is to get behind the team this year, it is going to be a great year!
“We have had a great preseason under Mick, Anthony and Daniel. The team has gelled well and I am looking forward to what we can achieve together on the pitch.”
Damir is a highly sort after keeper who has plied his trade at the highest level in Victoria for more than a decade.
Having previously played for Dandenong City, Melbourne Knights, and St Albans he is also the safe hands that guided Dandenong City to the NPL2 title in 2018.
“I can’t wait to hit the pitch with this united, strong group of men and represent the goal square for Altona City Soccer Club.”
A highly talented young goalkeeper Patrick is a great addition to the ACSC Senior Men’s Squad in 2022.
Patrick has spent the past few seasons at Preston Lions FC where he proved himself by displaying a willingness to learn and a safe set of hands in pressure-filled environments.
“I am looking forward to taking to the pitch at HC Kim Reserve and building on the good energy of the team to bring success to ACSC in 2022.”
Altona City is excited to announce the signing of midfielder Andelo Svalina. Andelo is an attacking player that has the ability to take set pieces.
He has played professionally in Croatia for NK Solin before coming down under to Melbourne Knights and then Strathmore. Another major coup for coach Michael Calandrella. Andelo is raring to go for season 2022.
“I look forward to meeting all the ACSC supporters and can’t wait to hit the pitch.”
Anthony is back at ACSC to finish what he started in 2021!
The strong target man is looking to dominate the scoring leaderboards and we can’t wait to see this former ACSC junior player back in the maroon and gold for season 2022.
“After the last few seasons being disrupted I am looking forward to making an impact on the pitch and bringing success to ACSC in 2022.”
Anton is a tough, hard-tackling defender who is also highly competitive in the air. He fights for every ball & we can’t wait to see him take the park in 2022.
Anton is from New Zealand & has joined ACSC from the Nomads United AFC out of Christchurch.
“I have felt welcome immediately & I can’t wait to see what the season holds for us as a team.”
The Scerri family has a long affiliation with ACSC & it is great to have Cameron taking to the pitch for a second year with our Senior Men’s team in 2022.
Cameron is looking forward to working with the team & developing under new Coach Michael Calandrella.
‘It is a great community at ACSC & I am committed to the team and its development. It’s an exciting time to be involved at ACSC.’
Welcome, Clinton Garley!
Clinton signs with us from Werribee City.
The lightning-quick winger is another great addition to the Senior Men’s squad that is being built for season 2022. We can’t wait to see him leave opposition defenders behind.
‘I can’t wait for the season to get started and to make an impact on the pitch.’
Altona City SC would like to welcome David Mwarabu back to HC Kim Reserve for season 2022. David is an ex-ACSC senior player that was involved in the 2019 squad before leaving for trials in England.
David is a strong defensive-midfielder that protects his backline and has the ability to read/control the game from the middle of the park.
Good to see David back in maroon and gold, cant wait to see him in action.
Forbes arrives to us from Whittlesea Ranges in NPL2, the midfielder is comfortable across all positions in the midfield. Hardworking and his ability to create chances make him an exciting young player to watch. Some of his career highlights thus far include selection for the Wellington Phoenix youth academy before signing his first contract at age 16 with Team Wellington in the NZ National Premier League.
Welcome to Altona Forbes!
Jarime is a young attacking midfielder, with quick feet who has already demonstrated his ability to play out wide.

“Looking forward to working hard and delivering results for the Team, Club and ACSC faithful.”
Lachlan joins ACSC for season 2022 having previously played for Carolins Springs George Cross and Corio FC.
Lachie is an ex – ACSC junior grassroots player who is excited to be back at his childhood club. He is looking forward to inspiring the young players at ACSC on their pathway to senior football.
“It’s great to be back in the maroon and gold. Looking forward to season 2022.”
Luc is an experienced technical full-back who hails from the UK.
Luc has previously played for the likes of Burgesshilll Town FC & Haywards Heath Town FC where he helped Haywards Heath Town FC to win the league and gain promotion.
“Proud to be here, looking forward to the season ahead and being part of the team.”
Wants to play for ACSC as Club has great ambitions and it was where Macmillan’s football journey started.
My career highlight is playing for Pascoe Vale in 2018 and winning the 2018 Championship.
“It is great to be back on the pitch that I played at as a junior. I am looking forward to a fantastic run on the park with these boys.”
Marijan started at ACSC in ‘98 as a talented 11-year-old and spent 4 years at the club. He then returned to ACSC in 2004 to begin his successful senior football career.
He was part of the State 2 promotion-winning Altona City side of ‘05. The VPL gold medal winner in ‘13 spent 8 seasons at a renowned Melbourne Knights and captained them for 7 in the Top tier of Victorian football.
“It’s a beautiful feeling being back where it all started I’m very grateful and happy! Everyone’s been so friendly and the playing group has been great I’m really enjoying it.”
We welcome back our Japanese striker! This is Rin’s fifth year at ACSC.
Rin’s greatest football memory was winning the Championship in Japan.
Rin’s goal for 2022 is to score over 10 goals and he was our top scorer in 2021.
“I look forward to bringing my experience and knowledge to the team. This is a great group of talented players that Michael, Daniel and Anthony have put together, I am excited to be a part of the team and a new chapter at Altona City Soccer Club.”
Tarek has previously played at St Alban’s Dinamo and is known to be a hard-tackling center back.
Reuniting with his former coach Michael Calendrella having previously won an NPL U 20 championship together, we can feel the buzz and the excitement to be back on the pitch in 2022.
